Gunjana has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi and has completed her Masters from the School of Human Ecology, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi. She has a keen interest in conservation biology and her research focus has been on the dimensions of human-wildlife coexistence. Her Masters dissertation involved studying a group of the endangered Hoolock Gibbons living outside a protected area in a human-dominated landscape in Assam.
